Who are we?

Fondazione Patrizio Paoletti (FPP) is an Italian non-profit organisation and research institute active in the fields of neuroscience, psychology, pedagogy, and didactics. Its mission is to promote innovation in education and training through science-based methodologies and research.
FPP is accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education for the continuous professional development of schoolteachers and educational professionals. By combining the latest findings in neuroscience and psychopedagogical research,it designs and delivers training programmes aimed at strengthening transversal competences, emotional intelligence, mindset, cognitive skills, and resilience, contributing to both upskilling and reskilling efforts. Its focus is on the study of human learning, emotions, and development, combining this research with the latest findings from other disciplines. On this basis, we have developed a method called “Pedagogy for the Third Millennium.”
Since 2019, FPP has also been engaged in European cooperation, designing and implementing projects aimed at reducing the mismatch between education and training systems and the evolving needs of society and the labour market. Its multidisciplinary team includes project managers, researchers, educators, and trainers.
Our Role in the Project
Fondazione Patrizio Paoletti contributes to the SPIRIT project by bringing its twenty years of expertise in neuroscience, psychology, and education. Its main role is to integrate a neuro-psycho-pedagogical approach into the development of the project’s models and tools. FPP is engaged in several Work Packages: in WP2 it collaborates on the international survey on transversal skills and teaching practices in primary schools; in WP3 it contributes to designing the comprehensive model that integrates transversal skills, student age groups, and traditional games with gamified STEAM approaches; in WP4 it helps create innovative toolboxes for teachers and students, providing its educational methodologies and practical resources; in WP5 it is involved in developing the in-service teacher training course, contributing with the Pedagogy for the Third Millennium and tools based on neuroscience and socio-emotional education. In addition, Fondazione supports dissemination and pedagogical supervision of the results, ensuring that the materials are consistent with innovative educational practices and inclusive of different European school contexts
