Notes on Research-based approach and integration

The activity is grounded in inquiry-based and experiential learning. Children formulate questions (“How can we clean dirty water?” “What materials will hold up to wind?”), test hypotheses through construction, and revise their solutions based on trial outcomes. They also draw from their own observations—perhaps remembering a family camping trip, storm, or a news clip—bringing life relevance to each problem. The emotional check-ins add a socio-emotional lens, fostering metacognition and reflective learning.
