To support the children throughout the lesson, it’s helpful to:
- Create a calm, welcoming atmosphere so everyone feels safe to share their thoughts.
- Use emotion cards or a visual chart to help children identify and name their feelings.
- Offer a short demonstration to inspire those unsure where to start building.
- Ask open-ended questions such as, “What does this shape remind you of?” to spark curiosity and reflection.
- Let students pair-share before whole group discussions to lower anxiety and support communication.
- Be flexible—if energy drops, introduce a quick movement break or switch to drawing to keep engagement high.
