After reading the introductory material about games and watching the video of Máté Lencse’s thought-provoking presentation titled “The Power of Board Games in Skill Development,” ask your colleagues who teach elementary school and share your thoughts regarding the following questions:
- To what extent are the points discussed relevant and applicable at your school?
- What kinds of games do you typically play with children during class or at school, and for what purposes?
- What skills can be developed by playing these games/board games/outdoor games you use?
- How can you ensure the requirements for these games in a school/classroom environment?
- Are there opportunities within the educational system—and if so, where—that can be utilized to organize these activities?
- How can we find enough time for them?
- What was the last game you played with the children?
Make a brief note about your thoughts, as this may be useful during the training.
