Real-world STEAM Connection and Problem definition

Access to clean drinking water is a global challenge that affects communities around the world. Children may take clean water for granted, yet many people must rely on polluted or unsafe sources. In this activity, students are challenged to answer the question: How can dirty water be cleaned using simple, natural materials? By designing and testing their own water filters, students discover that science and engineering offer practical solutions to real environmental problems. They learn that improving a solution often requires trial, observation, adjustment, and teamwork, just like real engineers do.
